As thesis deadlines are rapidly approaching for third year students, Prague has many cozy and productive study spots that will make all the difference during this stressful time of year, so check out these spots recommended by AAU students.
Czech Academy of Sciences Library (New Town)
Across the street from Národní divadlo, this picturesque library provides over 200 seats for students to get their work done. The library is extremly quiet with a separate cafeteria room for study breaks. The break room has vending machines for coffee, snacks, and more, as well as a microwave for food from home.
The Czech academy of sciences library is accessible for either a 280 czk year pass or students can inquire at the AAU library to registar for a free pass. Registration is possible in person with an ISIC card and passport/ID.
Café Živé kytky (Žižkov)
Studying at Café Živé kytky feels like being transported to an urban rainforest. This beautiful cafe & plant shop has great coffee and cakes, as well as plenty of space to get your work done. Grab a coffee or two and maybe a plant to bring home.
TISSE Bakery (Vinohrady, Nusle, Smíchov, Karlín)
TISSE Bakery is known for artisan pastries and Scandinavian style plates. This cafe offers a clean, quiet space to be productive and the Vinohrady location has an outdoor courtyard seating area which is great during Spring weather.
TISSE opened their newest branch in Karlín on April 13th in the newly renovated BLOCK building.
CAMP (New Town)
The CAMP building in New Town isn’t just for architecture and urban planning, it also has an open work space. CAMP is study friendly with long community style tables and free Wifi, as well as a cafe.
You can bring outside food and drinks into the study space, making for a cheap study day.
The Loft (Karlín)
Karlín has a reputation for some of the best cafes in Prague and The Loft surely makes that list. The Loft has a cozy atmosphere as most of the seating is upstairs overlooking the rest of the cafe. They offer fresh baked goods and coffee all day long. In addition, it is laptop friendly with many places to charge your devices.
Café Záhorsky (Dejvice)
If you are looking for a bright, local study spot, this cafe is for you. Located close to Hradčanská metro station, Café Záhorsky is a laptop friendly all day cafe/brunch spot.
From pancakes to chicken cordon bleu, you are sure to find something delicious to fuel your writing from breakfast to dinner.
