AAU Football Delivers Commanding 7-2 Victory In Wake of Lopsided Defeat

The AAU Football Club defeated SK Amateras by a score of 7-2 this weekend in a friendly match, bouncing back from a tough 9-1 loss the week before.

Despite seeming completely outmatched in their previous loss without much of a spark to be found, the result of the AAU football teams’ most recent game showed encouraging momentum.

While the match remained fairly even through the first few minutes of play, AAU soon jumped ahead with a goal. SK Amateras evened the score soon after with one of their own, but AAU kept their foot on the pedal, leading to five consecutive unanswered scores and an eventual 7-2 final score.

The match was one of the club’s most disciplined performances yet as the squad played with tight communication between and during plays, moving the ball well and keeping up staunch defense. It’s a convincing victory that serves as a huge confidence boost for the club, with head coach Matyáš Kousek even stating that he believes the game may have been the best all around performance that he’s seen from the team.

Samuel Nykl led the scoring for AAU with a hat trick, with Matt Saks and Giovanni Manghi each adding a goal of their own. Alex Aardoom, playing his first game as new captain of the team, recorded two goals himself in an impressive debut at the helm.

AAU Football will look to take this momentum into their next match, as they face off with LFP on March 15 at SK Aritma Praha in what should be another high intensity showdown against their familiar foes from Pilsen.
