Wander the Prague Easter Markets
A key part of celebrating Easter in Prague are the festive markets all around the city, running from March 21 to April 12, 2026.
The main locations are in Staroměstské Náměstí, the main square, and Wenceslas Square. For a smaller, more local vibe, go to the Náměstí Míru and Na Kampě locations. The markets are free and open daily (10:00–22:00).
Handmade souvenirs like painted Easter eggs (kraslice) and wooden toys are for sale alongsideCzech delicacies like traditional sweet bread (mazanec), giant hams roasted on spits (šunka), or carp fries (kapří hranolky).

Attend a traditional Easter church service
If you’re interested in attending an Easter service, Prague has some beautiful options. Even if you’re not particularly religious, the music, architecture, and atmosphere can be an enjoyable experience.
St. Vitus Cathedral hosts mass on Easter Sunday, with an English Mass on April 5 at 12:00 pm. Times and information about other services can be viewed on their website.
Try a unique Czech Easter tradition: Green Beer
On Green Thursday (April 2), locals drink “Zelené pivo” (green beer), a herbal lager symbolizing spring renewal. You can find it at Easter markets as well as some traditional Czech pubs.
Green Beer is always brewed the same way according to the original recipe and this Easter marks the 20th anniversary of Green Beer.
To commemorate the milestone, Starobrno is having a beer-filled celebration in Mendlov Square in Brno. If you’re interested in live music, brewery tours, and of course, green beer, a day trip to Brno is in store!
