Leonardo DiCaprio Arrives in Prague

Leonardo DiCaprio arrived in Prague for the filming of What Happens at Night, a film centering on DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence playing a couple adopting a child in Europe only to find themselves  in a strange hotel surrounded by surreal, disconcerting guests.

Prague served as the set for an impressive number of internationally acclaimed films such as  Mission Impossible, Casino Royale and The Bourne Identity, and recently The Age of Innocences. However, Prague’s architectural allure isn’t the only reason directors flock to the capital to shoot their films.

The Czech Audiovisual Fund has brought blockbuster films from around the world to Prague. The fund effectively matches ticket, advertising and broadcast sales from the production with grant money set aside from the state budget.

Martian Scorsese is pictured in instagram posts alongside his daughter, Francesca Scorsese’s, hinting at production preparations and possible shooting locations.

Official shooting locations have yet to be announced, but according to The Prague Reporter, Czech crews are expected to support interior and exterior scenes in and around the city that’s proved to be a hub for international production.
