Angelina Backers has reportedly been found this afternoon by the Croatian police department.
In correspondence with The Lennon Wall, the instagram account @pomoc_angelina, operated by her family, stated: “My mom has officially met up with her in the Croatian police department. We are relieved to have contact with her again.”
The 23-year old American woman was officially reported missing in Prague and Croatia as she had been previously last sighted on Feb. 14.
Backers wrote a letter to her roommates attributing her disappearance to a family emergency, stating that she would return at the end of the month. This letter was found on Feb. 16.
The account also stated that she left behind her IPad and a cellphone she had purchased the weekend before her disappearance.
After arriving in Croatia, Backers used other people’s phones to contact people she met while traveling. On Feb. 11 she messaged a friend in Croatia asking for a ride; however, this friend never picked her up.
According to Croatian news website Regional Express, Backers was listed in the national register of missing persons of Croatia; however, as of the afternoon of Feb. 17 she has been removed from the website.
Backers had previously been last seen in the coastal city of Pula on Feb.14. Prior to this, the account states she was seen in Zagreb on Feb. 12, leaving the hotel Vila Marija.
