From Prank to Pot: Café de Taxis Responds to ‘Soupgate’

Students arriving for class on Monday were greeted with an unusual poster scattered across campus, advertising a new menu item at Café de Taxis: chickpea soup.

The poster, which featured a pixelated photo of a middle-aged man, read: “Chickpea soup now available in Cafe de Taxis”.

Cafe employees quickly spotted the forgery and noted that they stopped serving chickpea soup years ago.

“We don’t mind, we just don’t really get it,” said Cafe de Taxis owner, Kieran Mulhall. “If someone really misses the soup that much, they can just talk to us.”

After a brief investigation, the Lennon Wall obtained the identity of the student behind the stunt. The student, who asked to remain anonymous, offered little explanation:

“I just love the mystery, nobody knows it’s me,” the student said.

Mulhall has decided to play along by serving chickpea soup in Cafe de Taxis on Monday Sep. 29 for one day only.
